Scene: Clark Park Revival — Joe’s Beat
(A cinematic monologue from Joe, to himself, sitting on a bench under a chestnut tree at dusk. Kids play in the distance. Dogs bark. The city hums. A cigarette glows in his hand.)

JOE (to himself):
I’m tired of the psychiatric beatdown.
Every week—it’s another pill, another form, another shrink trying to decode my soul like I’m some broken equation.

Yeah, I said some things. Things they don’t want to hear.
About wars, about Israel, about the lies behind the curtain. But thinking different doesn’t make me dangerous.

I’m a veteran. I know what real danger looks like.
And I know peace when I see it—Clark Park on a summer evening? That’s peace. And it’s slipping away.

So let me walk a beat here. No badge, no gun.
Just a pair of boots, a cigarette, and some respect for the old ways.
No one needs to get hurt. I’m not here to play cop—I’m here to be present.

The golden age of Clark Park?
It wasn’t about who had the biggest flashlight.
It was about who knew your name. Who would break up a fight with words, not cuffs.
Who’d slip a sandwich to a hungry kid and light a smoke for a vet too tired to speak.

You want to know if I’d be a good cop?
I don’t need a Taser—I got trauma.
I don’t need backup—I got memory.
And I don’t need a weapon—just a cigarette and the will to try again.

Let me do this. Let me walk this park.
Not to patrol it—
To belong to it.

Training, huh? Why don't we leave our weapons behind? Make it really educational.
