Another Knight

The “Another Night” TikTok trend is all about using nostalgic or emotional musicโ€”like the 90s hit “Another Night” by Real McCoyโ€”to share moments that are funny, relatable, or a bit dramatic. The idea is to show something or someone that keeps popping up in your life, making you feel like you’re having “another night” dealing with the same situation. It could be anything from someone who won’t stop texting you, to situations where you find yourself making the same mistake, or even pets that demand attention every night!

The key to the trend is combining the catchy “Another Night” song with clips that capture a feeling of repetition, whether it’s romantic, comedic, or sentimental. This lets people connect with the humor and nostalgia of going through lifeโ€™s little (and sometimes big) routines.

The Sinj Knights (or Alka Knights of Sinj) are the participants in an annual event called Alka, a traditional Croatian knightly tournament held in Sinj, Croatia. The Alka is a centuries-old competition dating back to 1715, held each August to commemorate the victory of the local people over the Ottoman Empire. During the tournament, knights, dressed in historic attire, ride horses and aim lances at a small metal ring (the alka), scoring points based on where they strike the ring.

The Sinj Knights, or alkari, represent Croatian heritage, and becoming a knight for this event is a great honor. The Alka has been recognized by UNESCO as an example of intangible cultural heritage, celebrating the spirit, history, and culture of the Sinj region.

The Glory of Love

Courtly love, also called refined love, refers to a romantic relationship between two unmarried people in medieval times.

These love relationships were not physical, but based on flirting, dancing, and the chivalrous efforts of knights and other noble young men to curry favor from ladies at court.

CONCLUSION

The Rules of Medieval Courtly Love

The violence and wars of the Middle Ages were tempered by the Rules of Medieval Courtly Love. The following rules and elements of Medieval Courtly Love during the Medieval times of the Middle Ages were written by the 12th Century Frenchman, Andreas Capellanus:

  • Marriage is no real excuse for not loving
  • He who is not jealous, cannot love
  • No one can be bound by a double love
  • It is well known that love is always increasing or decreasing
  • That which a lover takes against the will of his beloved has no relish
  • Boys do not love until they arrive at the age of maturity
  • When one lover dies, a widowhood of two years is required of the survivor
  • No one should be deprived of love without the very best of reasons
  • No one can love unless he is impelled by the persuasion of love
  • Love is always a stranger in the home of avarice
  • It is not proper to love any woman whom one would be ashamed to seek to marry
  • A true lover does not desire to embrace in love anyone except his beloved
  • When made public love rarely endures
  • The easy attainment of love makes it of little value; difficulty of attainment makes it prized
  • Every lover regularly turns pale in the presence of his beloved
  • When a lover suddenly catches sight of his beloved, his heart palpitates
  • A new love puts to flight an old one
  • Good character alone makes any man worthy of love
  • If love diminishes, it quickly fails and rarely revives
  • A man in love is always apprehensive
  • Real jealousy always increases the feeling of love
  • Jealousy, and therefore love, are increased when one suspects his beloved
  • He whom the thought of love vexes eats and sleeps very little
  • Every act of a lover ends in the thought of his beloved
  • A true lover considers nothing good except what he thinks will please his beloved
  • Love can deny nothing to love
  • A lover can never have enough of the solaces of his beloved
  • A slight presumption causes a lover to suspect his beloved
  • A man who is vexed by too much passion usually does not love
  • A true lover is constantly and without intermission possessed by the thought of his beloved
  • Nothing forbids one woman being loved by two men or one man by two women

The above rules of Courtly love demonstrate how playing this game could lead to all kinds of problems within the court circle.
