The Power

Joe leaned back in his chair, his voice low but steady.

Joe: โ€œYou know, Nelly, people chase power like itโ€™s the air they breathe. But real strengthโ€ฆ sometimes itโ€™s in the power to let power go.โ€

Nelly tilted her head, her eyes narrowing in thought.

Nelly: โ€œThatโ€™s rare. Most who taste power canโ€™t step away from it. They grip it tighter, afraid theyโ€™ll vanish without it.โ€

Joe nodded, his gaze turning distant, as if reaching for a memory not his own.

Joe: โ€œThink about Gagarin. The first man in space. He had the whole world in the palm of his hand, but he didnโ€™t use it to command nations or start wars. He didnโ€™t seek a throne. He justโ€ฆ looked back at Earth and said it was beautiful. Thatโ€™s a kind of power tooโ€”the refusal to claim it.โ€

Nelly smiled softly, resting her hand on Joeโ€™s.

Nelly: โ€œSo maybe the greatest power is humility. The ability to rise higher than anyone before you, then come back down and still be human.โ€

Joe squeezed her hand.

Joe: โ€œExactly. Power isnโ€™t about domination. Itโ€™s about choice. Gagarin chose wonder over control. Maybe thatโ€™s the lesson for us.โ€

Nelly: โ€œAnd maybe,โ€ she whispered, leaning closer, โ€œthatโ€™s why youโ€™re the only man I trust with power, Joe. Because you donโ€™t cling to it. You let it go.โ€
